Where To Skate In Asheville: Carrier Park

 

Carrier Park

Outdoor Roller Rink

The outdoor roller rink (pictured in the inner circle, dark blue) at Carrier Park makes it one of the top places to skate in Asheville, NC. The roller sport court is used as a practice location for the local roller hockey and roller derby leagues. Free roller skating events open to the public are often held at the outdoor rink on Friday or Saturday nights Asheville Parks & Rec or AVL Sk8 (local roller skating club). The events generally have both quad and inline skaters.

Mellowdrome

Surrounding the outdoor roller rink is the Velodrome also known as Mellowdrome. The Mellowdrome is a paved track with multiple lanes for walking, skating and biking.
